Start your day with a hug, a bear hug! The Ice House Winery’s mascot is Polaris, a life-sized sculpture of the mighty Canadian polar bear awaiting your arrival at the winery … rumour has it that giving him a bear hug will bring good luck. Once the photo op is done, make your way into the 19th century former peach packing barn which is now home to the Ice House, Niagara on the Lake’s only winery dedicated to perfecting icewine, and icewine only! From icewine slushies, to magnificent white and red icewines, your taste buds will be buzzing for the rest of day.

While we are here, be sure to ask about Klaus’ raisins made from wine grapes. At Reif, explorers will walk through a structured tasting with fine wines including icewine.
From there we head to Caroline Cellars, where you will learn more about the grape and wine industry in Niagara from your expedition leader.
